A friendly club for recurve, barebow, longbow and compound archers
COVID-19 Update
Well this has been far longer than any of us imagined and now, over a year on from the start of the pandemic, I hope we are through the worst and can start to look forward to something nearing normality. I sincerely hope that all of our Archery community and in particular you and your loved ones are well.
We are pleased to see that the lockdown rules are changing to allow outdoor archery under socially distanced and hopefully safe conditions. as a result of this we are looking to re-open our range to members very shortly with the appropriate safety measures in place.
With an eye towards our two tournaments, our Open Nationals / CWAA Novice normally held in July and the Klondike Longbow Tournament traditionally held in August, well according to the Government timetable we should by this time have lifted all lockdown restrictions in England, so we are hopeful that we will be able to run at least one if not both of these tournaments in 2021, but as we know life doesn’t always run to plan.
We are therefore keeping the decision to run these Tournaments under review at the moment and will therefore make announcements on these in the coming weeks.
Please watch this page for updates. Stay safe and stay healthy.
On behalf of Malvern Archers.
Each year we run two open tournament. Our Open Nationals has run for 14 years and incorporates the County of Worcestershire Novice championship and is National record status. For the last 4 years we have also run the Klondike Longbow tournament which we host at Manor Park.
While attracting many of the top local Archers and providing some good competition for the overall prizes the National family of rounds make it an ideal place for people new to the sport seeking to take their first step into competitions. We are delighted that this event incorporates the County of Worcestershire Novices championship and it’s nice to see previous entrants progress their Archery careers with many now shooting at County level.
The tournament has over recent years attracted up to 95 competitors. For 2017 and 2018 this was held at RGS The Grange just outside of Worcester, but for 2019 we hosted the tournament at Manor Park with Long National round being shot in the morning and the National and Junior rounds were shot in the afternoon.

As we have a number of members who enjoy traditional archery, in early 2016 we decided to add our own Open longbow tournament to the calendar. This event has proved very popular with local clubs and we have been joined by most of the best Longbow Archers in the area. The emphasis is very much on fun and we fire up the BBQ!
