Beginners

We aim to run two main beginners courses each year, these typically cater for up to 16 people and are usually scheduled in April/May and September,/October. We have also been running a few courses for smaller groups all subject to demand and the availability of our Coaches. The Club has all necessary equipment, including bows and arrows suitable for all ages and physiques, armguards, etc.

The main course traditionally took place over four/five Saturday mornings, although recent courses have been run as 2 full days run on a Saturday and Sunday of the same weekend.

Please do not be tempted to go and buy a bow to do our beginners course. We teach using our own equipment, and you may end up buying something expensive and totally unsuitable. Best to wait until after the course.

Adult beginners joining the club after completing one of our beginners courses will get a £10 discount off their first full years membership (applies to seniors only).

Junior members are accepted from the age of eight upwards.  Younger juniors may be accepted at the discretion of the Committee, provided that at least one parent is a shooting member and takes responsibility for them.  All junior members under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a parent, or other responsible adult, when attending the Club.

The club has several Coaches and many experienced members who are prepared to bring on novices and help individuals improve their shooting.  Further coaching is available through the County and Regional coaching system.

The beginners’ course costs only £80 per person (and Seniors get a £10 discount off their first year’s membership).  The course will be run at either the Manor Park Club, Albert Road North, Malvern or 8th Worcester Scout Group Hall, Cornmeadow Lane, Claines, Worcester, WR3.
