Beginners courses

We aim to run four main beginners courses each year, these typically cater for up to 16 people. The Club has all necessary equipment, including bows and arrows suitable for all ages and physiques, armguards, etc.

The courses run to different formats depending on the time of year. The indoor course (over the Winter) is run as 4 sessions on consecutive Sunday afternoons. The Spring & Summer courses (normally April & July) are run as intensive courses, 2 long afternoon sessions on a consecutive Saturday and Sunday.

Please do not be tempted to go and buy a bow to do our beginners course. We teach using our own equipment, and you may end up buying something expensive and totally unsuitable. Best to wait until after the course.

Junior are accepted from the age of eight upwards: younger juniors may be accepted at the discretion of the Committee (normally this is for children of an existing shooting member, who takes responsibility for them).  N.B. All junior members (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent, or other responsible adult, for the duration of the course. For details of our upcoming courses see table.
